Smooth eCommerce Re-plaform
Be My Bear is the original build-anywhere-bear kit who specialise in make-a-bear kits which allow children of all ages to make their own cuddly toy wherever they see fit. Their products are sold directly to both retail and wholesale customers.
The Problem
We’d been working with Be My Bear for a number of years after we help them transition away from CS-Cart to Magento which saw huge improvements and healthier sales. Fast forward and it’s time to migrate to Magento 2, which gave us the perfect opportunity to revisit the websites look and feel and build it around the customers.
The team wanted to stand out from the crowd with a website that was all about their customers, built for them with loyalty sewn in and 3rd part integrations with their warehouse management system StoreFeeder.
All of this was aimed at providing a slicker, faster and personalised service whilst making it easier to manage.
Our Solution
Through extensive wire-framing and design sprints we came up with a look and feel that encapsulated the brand and engaged their visitors using bright colours, big imagery and clear calls to action.
The build side saw a number of new features that allowed Be My Bear to control downloadable party packs, develop deeper loyalty and even run site promotions with ease across both their direct to consumer and business to business storefronts.
Colour is Key!
The UX design is straightforward, allowing users to navigate through the site and find whatever they need with very little involvement. The user experience was designed for simplicity straight-through accessibility for everyone and ease of use. We have used child-friendly colours throughout the design, in soft welcoming tones which create a calm and engaging environment.
These colours weren’t purely aesthetic, either; they improved readability and helped guide users intuitively through the site. The careful balance strikes between clear navigation and bright, friendly colours is also a genius way to facilitate a great user experience that entices visitors to explore further and spend more time on the site.
Boosting AOV with Smart Upsells and Cross-Sells
To boost average order values (AOV) and extract the maximum revenue from each transaction, we strategically integrated upselling and cross-selling features. Through placing these suggestions throughout the customer journey, we gave visitors the chance to be introduced to items that can complement their original purchase, or upgrade their original bear to a more premium version. These tailored suggestions help customers quickly discover associated items they might require or desire.
By doing so, we ended up increasing the AOV and providing a seamless shopping experience with relevant, curated options according to customer interests. Thus, customers added more products to their cart, increasing sales, without compromising on a seamless and positive user experience.

The Results
Within a few weeks, the results were clear, whilst site traffic was down thanks to an ongoing pandemic conversion rates have soared along with a huge decrease in new visitors leaving the site early.
Coupled with superfast load times, integrated social media, a streamlined abandoned cart campaign and a fresh new look their websites are doing better than ever.
